MLB: LA Angels 4, Colorado 3

Anaheim, Calif. June 24: Bobby Abreu's two-run, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning rallied the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-3 home win over the Colorado Rockies.

Abreu drove a base hit to right field to saddle Ubaldo Martinez (6-7) with the inter-league loss and snap Colorado's nine-game road victory streak.

Martinez, who gave up four runs on seven hits in seven-plus innings, had been solid until the eighth. He walked Jeff Mathis, gave up a bunt single to Erik Aybar and loaded the bases on a fielder's choice by Chone Figgins to set the stage for Abreu.

Kevin Jepsen (2-2) pitched the eighth for the win and Brian Fuentes notched his American League-leading 20th save.

Troy Tulowitzki had two home runs to account for all three Colorado runs.

After Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the third on Figgins' RBI single, Tulowitzki tied the score with his first homer of the game in the fourth.

But Juan Rivera answered with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning for the Angels.

Tulowitzki put the Rockies ahead 3-2 with his two-run blast in the sixth.
Sean O'Sullivan, called up from Class AAA Salt Lake City prior to the game, started for the Angels in place of injured Ervin Santana. He gave up three runs on six hits and struck out three in five innings.
