The inter-league win went to Trevor Cahill (4-5), who gave up two unearned runs in 5 1/3 innings. Cahill allowed four hits and four walks while striking out three. He also got his first major league hit.

Andrew Bailey pitched the ninth and got his sixth save.

Matt Holliday and Orlando Cabrera also drove in runs for the Athletics, who ended a four-game losing streak.

Hiroki Kuroda (1-3) was tagged with the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits over six innings. Kuroda has lost his last three decisions and this one ended the Dodgers' three-game win streak.

Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with two RBI for LA.
