Of this, $950 million would be given as industrial aid, $700 million for the war on terror and $910 million as compensation for the losses Pakistan had faced in the war on terror, Online news agency quoted ambassador Hussain Haqqani as saying.
This apart, the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee had approved the Kerry-Lugar Bill under which Pakistan would annually get $1.5 billion a year for the next five years.
This money, the envoy said, would be spent on education, health and on infrastructure.
He also hoped that the conditions included in the bill on access to disgraced Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan would soon be removed.
Khan has been accused of illegally proliferating nuclear secrets to North Korea, Iran and Libya and the US says it wants to question him on this.
Pakistan has been consistently saying it has the wherewithal to deal with the issue.
