Rookie Swede wins McDonald's LPGA event

Havre De Grace, Md. June 14: Anna Nordqvist of Sweden shot a 4-under 68 Sunday to win the McDonald's LPGA Championship in Maryland by four shots over Lindsey Wright in Havre de Grace, Md.

Nordqvist tapped in a birdie putt on the 18th hole to finish at 273 for the tournament and win her first LPGA Tour title in her fifth start.

Wright, who carded a 2-under 70 round and 277 for the tournament, birdied the 11th hole to get within a stroke of the front-running rookie, but Nordqvist birdied the 14th, 15th and 18th holes.

Women's British Open champion Jiyai Shin also shot a 68 Sunday to finish third at 10-under-par 278. Kyeong Bae also carded a 68 to finish at 9-under.
