MLB: N.Y. Mets 6, Philadelphia 5

New York -- The New York Mets backed Johan Santana with three home runs Tuesday to post a 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, who had four homers of their own.

Carlos Beltran hit a two-run homer, and David Wright and Ryan Church each had solo homers for New York. Jimmy Rollins, who was 3-for-4, had a two-run homer, and Ryan Howard, Raul Ibanez and Chase Utley had solo homers for Philadelphia.

Santana (8-3) gave up a season-high five earned runs on eight hits. He also had a run-scoring double. Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth to earn his 16th save in as many chances.

Clay Condrey (4-1) took the loss after giving up the go-ahead run in the sixth.

Philadelphia starter J.A. Happ, allowed four runs on six hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings.
