Reynolds may headline own 'X-Men' movie

Los Angeles -- Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds may get a chance to star in a movie focusing on his "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" character, Deadpool.
Variety.com said Twentieth Century Fox is developing the spinoff as a project for Reynolds.

According to "X-Men" mythology, Wade Wilson is a cancer-stricken mercenary who undergoes a Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and becomes an indestructible anti-hero named Deadpool, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

"Wolverine" was No. 1 at the U.S. box office when it opened last weekend.
